Ulm impresses with its unique mix of history and lively urban atmosphere – a perfect setting for our iPad Murder Mystery Tour.
On October 21, 2025, at 3:30 PM I met the eight colleagues from Lenser Filtration GmbH at the agreed meeting point in Kronengasse. After a brief welcome and a compact tutorial on the iPads, we split the group into two teams and set off: authentic crime cases, digital clues and lots of small tasks were waiting to be solved. The CityHunters app, with its map view and location display, made navigating the city center easy – a modern city game that is both fun and challenging.
Over the next three hours the teams were largely on their own, competing in a sporty contest to score the most points. Points were awarded for solving puzzles correctly and for creative team tasks. I remained reachable by phone the whole time and stepped in to help with questions, without disrupting the teams’ independent search.
The tour led the teams past well-known spots such as Ulm Minster, the historic town hall and the Museum Ulm – ideal backdrops for tricky cases and surprising aha moments. The weather was fair and provided pleasant conditions; the mood stayed cheerful and focused. This experience is a great example of how a team building experience in Ulm can work playfully: shared problem solving, short decision moments and plenty of laughter when team members compared solutions.
After exactly three hours everyone met again at Kronengasse for the award ceremony. It was wonderful to see how strangers briefly became detectives and ended the day as a closely knit team. The winner’s podium was shared by Team Chef, with a result that caused amused surprise: 0 points.
