Hachenburg, a charming town in the Westerwald, provided the perfect backdrop for an exciting Murder Mystery Geocaching event on September 24, 2026. I had the pleasure of leading this adventure as a CityHunters team guide for 25 enthusiastic employees from Energieversorgung Mittelrhein AG. The evening kicked off promisingly at the Parkhotel Hachenburg, where the participants arrived full of anticipation.
After a brief introduction, we divided the group into five teams, each equipped with tablets. These devices served not only as tools but also as gateways to a world full of puzzles and secrets. Each team set out to explore Hachenburg from a completely new perspective. The city transformed into a vast playground, dotted with tricky challenges and thrilling criminal cases.
During the tour, the app guided the teams to some of the city's most notable landmarks, including the impressive Westerwald Landscape Museum, the historic Castle Church, and the striking Synagogue. These locations became the scenes of mysterious crimes that needed solving. Participants gathered clues, analyzed evidence, and questioned virtual witnesses—all in the effort to make Hachenburg safe again.
The weather was on our side: a pleasant evening breeze accompanied the teams on their adventurous journey through the city. The spirit of competition was ignited, and the teams did their utmost to collect the most points. Throughout, fun and team building in Hachenburg were always at the forefront.
After two thrilling hours, all teams returned to the Parkhotel for the grand award ceremony. In a lively atmosphere, the winners were celebrated, and all participants received personalized certificates in recognition of their efforts. This reward was the perfect conclusion to an unforgettable evening.
The Murder Mystery Geocaching in Hachenburg not only strengthened team spirit but also highlighted the individual strengths of the participants. It was a team building experience in Hachenburg that will be remembered for a long time. The city proved to be an ideal host, turning all participants into detectives for a day.
