Team Building Event eNeG Gesellschaft für wirtschaftlichen Energieeinsatz mbh
Hamburg is a city full of stories, striking architecture and maritime charm, perfect for a blend of puzzle fun and exploration.
As a CityHunters team guide I led an iPad Murder Mystery Tour on November 7, 2025 at 3:30 pm for 15 employees of eNeG Gesellschaft für wirtschaftlichen Energieeinsatz mbh. The meeting point was the rear of the main church Sankt Petri, where I warmly welcomed the group and gave the final instructions on the app and the schedule.
The participants were split into three teams and set off with iPads, a map and digital cases. The route took the groups past well-known sights — from the Elbphilharmonie through the Speicherstadt to the Chilehaus — turning the streets into exciting crime scenes. What started as a city exploration quickly became a genuine team building experience in Old Town.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and engaged in a friendly competition for the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles, clever team tasks and quick decisions on location. The iPad app guided them from station to station, displayed clues on the map and kept the tension high. I was available by phone throughout in case of questions or technical problems.
The weather turned out gloomy, but that only added to the atmosphere: rain and fresh air made the investigation feel more vivid and strengthened team cohesion. Experiences like this are typical of a successful team building experience in Old Town — challenging, connective and full of shared aha moments.
After three hours everyone met again at the rear of the main church Sankt Petri for the award ceremony. The overall victory went to team Panzerknacker with 315 points. Second place went to Endgegner, also with 315 points, followed by Petri Heil with 270 points. The mood at the prize giving was jubilant and proud.
Experiences like this show how effective a team building experience in Old Town can be: fun, competition and collaborative problem solving create lasting bonds. I look forward to the next tour and more teams who want to discover the city in this interactive way.
