Team Building Event DKMS Group gGmbH
Our iPad Tour concept combines history, culture and modern technology into an interactive team building experience — exactly what we experienced on October 16, 2025 in Cologne with DKMS Group gGmbH.
As the CityHunters team guide I met 49 enthusiastic participants at Theo-Burauen-Platz at 6:00 PM. After a brief introduction to the iPads and the CityHunters App, the participants were split into nine teams. The app acted as the central hub: navigation, tasks, scores and even a live chat kept all teams connected — perfect for a real team building experience in Cologne.
Then the high-tech Scavenger Hunt across the city began. Teams were on their own and made their way to a series of stations where they solved puzzles and completed creative team tasks. Points were awarded for correct answers and smart teamwork. I stayed reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or minor issues came up — that way everyone could continue without interruption.
The route took the groups past landmarks that make Cologne so special. Between the impressive Cologne Cathedral, the lively Hohenzollern Bridge and the Museum Ludwig there were many team moments full of concentration and laughter. The weather was decent and helped create a pleasant atmosphere so everyone tackled the tasks with enthusiasm.
After about two hours everyone met back at the starting point, Theo-Burauen-Platz, for the award ceremony. The tension was high — and the final group photo showed satisfied faces. The winning team was Just the twos and claimed victory with 0 points.
Experiences like these show how effective a team building experience in Cologne can be: fun, togetherness and solving challenges together create lasting bonds among colleagues. As a team guide it is always nice to see how different people quickly become real teams.
