Erlangen captivates with its lively city center, historic charm and green retreats, the perfect backdrop for an exciting team building experience in Erlangen.
On September 25, 2025 at 5:00 pm I had the pleasure as team guide to lead a special Murder Mystery Geocaching for seven employees of Schaeffler Immobilien AG & Co. KG. The meeting point was Hugenottenplatz, where I welcomed the group and briefly explained the rules. The mood was expectant and curious, ideal conditions for an active team building experience in Erlangen.
After a short briefing the participants were divided into smaller teams and equipped with tablets. The preinstalled app guided the teams to various locations around the city, turning familiar places into crime scenes and presenting tricky puzzles and team challenges. It was especially rewarding to see how participants at stations near Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Botanical Garden Erlangen and the Huguenot Church got creative and worked together on solutions.
During the two-hour tour the teams were on their own and engaged in a friendly competition for the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles, successful team tasks and clever combinations of clues. I was reachable by phone throughout the game and offered a discreet hint when needed, but for the most part the teams remained independent and proud of what they achieved together.
The weather was on our side; conditions were pleasant and contributed to the upbeat atmosphere. Group laughter, lively discussions and focused puzzling made it clear that this experience noticeably strengthened team cohesion.
After exactly two hours we met again at Hugenottenplatz for the award ceremony. The joy over solved cases, the shared celebration and the chance to exchange successes made the end of the evening particularly enjoyable. As a team guide it was a pleasure to see how a team building experience in Erlangen provided impetus for collaboration and motivation.
