Team Building Event AWO Senioren- u. Sozialzentrum gGmbH Sachsen-West
What a glorious late-summer day — perfect weather for a Scavenger Hunt and great spirits among all participants.
On September 18, 2025 at 3:30 PM I had the pleasure of welcoming twelve employees from AWO Senioren- u. Sozialzentrum gGmbH Sachsen-West at Thomaskirchhof as a CityHunters team guide. After a brief introduction, the teams received tablets with the CityHunters app preinstalled; I explained the format and how to use the app before the group split into two teams.
Then the adventure began: our Geocaching tour took the teams across Leipzig, past landmarks such as the Thomaskirche, the Nikolaikirche and the University of Leipzig. This form of team building experience in Leipzig involved solving puzzles, completing team challenges and uncovering hidden clues. The teams were on their own during the tour and competed against each other in a friendly rivalry.
Every correct answer and completed challenge earned points — creativity, communication and powers of observation were rewarded. I was available by phone throughout the tour to offer support in case of questions or technical issues. That way everyone could focus on having fun together and enjoying the shared experience.
After three hours everyone reconvened at Thomaskirchhof for the awards ceremony. The tension was high when the results were announced: first place went to the team Team Rot with 315 points, followed by Die Grünen Mäuse with 285 points. Congratulations to the winners and a big well done to all participants for their effort and team spirit.
This Geocaching event once again showed how well fun, adventure and genuine collaboration go together. A team building experience in Leipzig offers exactly that mix: exploring, puzzling and experiencing things together against the lively backdrop of the city — whether at the Gewandhaus or other historic sites. I already look forward to the next time we rediscover Leipzig together and strengthen teams at another team building event.
