Team Building Event Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW
The 16 participants from Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW set off full of anticipation for our shared adventure.
As the CityHunters team guide I welcomed the group at Hotel Nibelungen Hof on Niederstraße in Xanten promptly at 9:30 a.m. on July 8, 2025. After a brief introduction and handing out the tablets loaded with our CityHunters app, we split the group into three teams. A few quick instructions, a smile, and off they went: the perfect start for our team building experience in Xanten.
Over the next two hours the teams were on their own, competing in friendly rivalry for the highest score. The Scavenger Hunt led colleagues through Xanten's historic old town and past highlights such as the LVR Archaeological Park Xanten, St. Viktor Cathedral and the Klever Gate. At every stop puzzles, creative team tasks and small discovery assignments tested their collaboration — perfect ingredients for a lasting team building experience in Xanten.
I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or minor issues arose. The sunny weather helped too: motivation and good spirits were everywhere. Some teams excelled at the brainteasers, others scored points with team spirit and clever solutions — exactly what makes Geocaching in Xanten so special.
After exactly two hours everyone met back at Hotel Nibelungen Hof for the award ceremony. The tension rose as the points were tallied: first place went to the team Römische Routenfinder with 360 points, followed by Mäuseschlau und Bärenstark with 240 points and Radlos with 195 points. Congratulations to the winners — and applause for all teams for their effort and the great atmosphere!
Experiences like this show how a team building experience in Xanten brings people together: puzzling, discovering and laughing together — and getting to know the city from new perspectives. I am already looking forward to the next group that wants to discover Xanten in our playful way.
