Team Building Event BASF SE
On June 25, 2025 at 5:00 PM I had the pleasure of guiding a fantastic Geocaching event in Speyer for 26 participants from BASF SE as a CityHunters team guide. The meeting point was Hotel Domhof at the Bauhof — an ideal place to start our adventure. The group was split into five teams, and after a brief briefing we were off.
At the start I explained the format, handed out the necessary clues and gave a short demo of the technology used to run the Scavenger Hunt. The teams then set off independently: everyone contributed their strengths, with creative thinking and good communication in demand. I remained available by phone throughout in case any questions or issues came up.
The route took us past Speyer’s most beautiful sights: stunning views of Speyer Cathedral, historic lanes near the Altpörtel and fascinating displays at the Historical Museum of the Palatinate. The challenges ranged from tricky puzzles to collaborative tasks — perfect ingredients for a genuine team building experience in Speyer.
The teams competed for points awarded for correctly solved puzzles and successfully completed tasks. After two hours all groups made their way back to Hotel Domhof for the awards ceremony. Team Winners claimed first place with 285 points and received medals. Oppanolis and Sppanol finished with 255 points each — a close and exciting contest.
What I enjoyed most was how quickly trust and cohesion developed: solving demanding tasks together really showed how effective a team building experience in Speyer can be. The mix of sightseeing, playful competition and cooperation clearly brought everyone a lot of fun and sparked new conversations.
