Team Building Event Universität Duisburg-Essen
The concept of our Murder Mystery Geocaching blends city exploration, puzzle fun and cooperative problem solving into an exciting team building event – and that is exactly how I was able to welcome the group from the University of Duisburg-Essen as a CityHunters team guide on November 13, 2024 at 2:00 PM in Münster.
At Syndikatplatz, 21 participants gathered, and after a short briefing I divided the group into four teams. Armed with tablets and our special app, the teams set off through the city center. You could feel the anticipation from the start: this is real team building experience in Münster, where every task brings heads together and the city becomes the stage.
The route led the groups past familiar spots – from St.-Paulus-Dom via the Prinzipalmarkt to the Fürstbischöfliche Schloss Münster – turning well-known sights into intriguing crime scenes. The teams were mostly on their own, competing against one another for points. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and successfully completing team challenges. Technology and adventure complemented each other perfectly: the app showed the stations, and every solved puzzle produced new clues.
I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or issues came up. That provided reassurance without disturbing the playful character of the event – and that is precisely what makes our Murder Mystery Geocaching an ideal format for team building experience in Münster: independent teamwork supported by CityHunters moderation.
The weather was on our side – pleasant and perfect for a stroll through the old town. After two and a half hours, all teams reconvened at Syndikatplatz for the awards ceremony. The mood was fantastic: laughter, intriguing anecdotes and plenty of praise for creative problem solving.
The winner was team 5 Fragezeichen with 300 points, closely followed by Ehre with 255 points and Pilzpiraten in third with 240 points. Moments like these, when achievements are celebrated together, are what make team building experience in Münster so special.
It was a day full of energy, curiosity and a sense of community – a prime example of how Münster can be experienced in a new way and how colleagues become a true team.
