Rotterdam impresses with its modern architecture, lively port atmosphere and hidden corners that are perfect for playful discovery.
On November 7, 2024 at 9:45 AM I had the pleasure of welcoming the group from Corporate Event Solutions GmbH to an iPad Tour as a CityHunters team guide. The meeting point was the ibis Rotterdam City Centre at the Wijnhaven — central, welcoming and ideal for the start of our adventure. In total 47 participants took part, divided into seven teams.
After a short introduction to the CityHunters app and how to use the iPads, the groups received their devices and off they went: a top-level team building experience in Rotterdam. The tour combines modern technology with playful challenges — constant excitement, clever puzzles and creative team tasks led the teams to well-known spots such as the Erasmus Bridge, the Cube Houses and the Market Hall.
Over the two and a half hours the teams navigated independently, competing in a friendly contest for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and successfully completed team tasks that demanded strategy, observation and cohesion. I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case help was needed — a reassuring backup that many teams made use of.
The weather played along, so the mood was consistently upbeat and lively. Everywhere you could see conversations, collaborative problem-solving and loud laughter — a genuine team building experience in Rotterdam that went beyond work and connected people both personally and professionally.
After around 2.5 hours all groups met again at the ibis Rotterdam City Centre for the joint awards ceremony. On the top step of the podium stood the team Schleifer with 220 points. In second place was Quietscheentchen, also with 220 points, and third place went to Die fantastischen 4+1 with 210 points. A lovely finish that left everyone with pride, fun and a strong sense of togetherness.
If you are looking for an event that combines informal encounters, playful challenges and a true team building experience in Rotterdam, the iPad Tour is a wonderful choice. I am already looking forward to the next adventure in this multifaceted city.
