The concept behind our iPad Tour blends playful city exploration with modern technology and a focused team building experience in Freising — and that is exactly how we welcomed the colleagues from Texas Instruments Deutschland GmbH on September 12, 2024 at 5:00 PM. The meeting point was the Mariensäule, where I, as the CityHunters team guide, greeted the group, gave a brief introduction to the CityHunters App and split the 17 participants into three motivated teams.
After a short briefing each team received an iPad as the hub of the tour. The route led to exciting spots around the city: from Freising Cathedral to the Weihenstephan Benedictine Monastery and on to the Diocesan Museum — perfect stops to rediscover Freising. At every station there were puzzles, photo tasks and creative team challenges that demanded attention to detail and good collaboration.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and competed against each other in a friendly rivalry. Points were earned by correctly solving puzzles and mastering joint tasks. The CityHunters App connected the groups and showed live standings, keeping the excitement high until the end. I was available by phone and provided support when needed.
The weather cooperated and provided pleasant conditions for a relaxed, active city walk. That quickly created a casual, motivating atmosphere where fun and teamwork took center stage. After about an hour and a half all teams met back at the Mariensäule for a joint awards ceremony. During the small celebration we recognized the best performances, exchanged impressions and felt the shared energy. Moments like these show how effective a team building event can be when team spirit, play and the citys history come together.
