Team Building Event Gasnetz Hamburg
Old Town put on its best face and provided the perfect backdrop for a lively team building event.
As a team guide for CityHunters, I welcomed 24 colleagues from the company Gasnetz Hamburg on September 3, 2024 at 1:00 PM at the back of the main church St. Petri. After a short greeting and a rundown of the plan, participants were divided into four teams. Each received a tablet with the preinstalled CityHunters app, and the tour began — an ideal introduction to a team building experience in Old Town.
The next few hours led the teams across the city center. The route left plenty of room for discoveries: from views near the Elbphilharmonie to hidden corners of the Speicherstadt and striking facades like the Chilehaus. Along the way they had to solve puzzles and complete creative team tasks — points were awarded for correct answers, clever teamwork and keen observation.
During the tour the groups were on their own and engaged in a friendly competition for the highest score. I remained reachable by phone at all times in case of questions or minor technical issues. This form of Geocaching blends playful excitement with real interaction among colleagues — a genuine team building experience in Old Town where communication and cohesion really grow.
After three hours all teams reconvened at the back of the main church St. Petri for the joint awards ceremony. The mood was exuberant and proud: the winning team 0815 took first place with 330 points, followed by team 040 with 240 points and team ACAB with 225 points. A great finish to an event that promoted both fun and togetherness.
Events like this show how versatile a team building experience in Old Town can be: entertaining, challenging and full of wonderful discoveries. I look forward to the next Geocaching with new groups to explore the city together again and further strengthen team spirit.
