Team Building Event NTT DATA Business Solutions AG
As a CityHunters team guide, I had the pleasure of leading a Geocaching event for 14 employees of NTT DATA Business Solutions AG in Bautzen on August 21, 2024 at 3:30 pm. We met at the Fleischmarkt by St. Peter's Cathedral, where I warmly welcomed the group and gave a brief introduction to the schedule. After a short briefing and handing out the tablets, we set off enthusiastically on our team building experience in Bautzen.
The participants were split into two teams and off they went: tablets and the CityHunters app in hand, exploring the town’s charming lanes and squares. Our route took them past landmarks such as St. Peter's Cathedral, the Ortenburg and the Reichenturm — perfect settings for intriguing puzzles and little discoveries.
During the tour the teams were on their own, engaged in a friendly competition to score the most points. Points were earned by solving puzzles correctly and completing creative team tasks. It was great to watch ideas being shared, strengths combined and solutions found together — exactly what makes a successful team building experience in Bautzen.
The weather was pleasant, not too hot, making the city exploration even more enjoyable. I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or minor issues came up, which helped ensure a smooth experience.
After two hours and 45 minutes, all teams returned to the Fleischmarkt by St. Peter's Cathedral for the awards ceremony. The tension was high and the applause for the winning team DarkDocktors was enthusiastic. A little fun fact: the winning team scored zero points, which produced a lot of laughter and a relaxed atmosphere.
Geocaching in Bautzen not only offers adventure but also the chance to see the city with fresh eyes. Whether at St. Peter's Cathedral, the Ortenburg or looking toward the Reichenturm, participants kept uncovering stories and small secrets of the town.
