Our Murder Mystery Geocaching combines urban exploration, tricky puzzles and teamwork into an exciting participatory whodunit that turns participants into detectives.
On July 26, 2024 at 4:00 PM I welcomed 13 colleagues from Alfred Kärcher SE & Co. KG as their team guide at the Kunstgebäude on Schlossplatz in Stuttgart. After a brief briefing the participants were split into three teams and equipped with tablets — the app guided the groups to the different cases and crime scenes.
Then the tour through Stuttgart began: the teams set off independently through the city center, collecting clues and solving tasks. Along the way they discovered familiar spots like Schlossplatz, the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and the Old Castle, which served as the backdrop for our scenarios. Every clue solved and every team challenge completed earned points — and the competitive spirit led to many smiles and creative solutions.
During the three hours the groups were on their own, but I remained reachable by phone to help with questions or technical issues. This mix of independent initiative and reliable backup makes our format an ideal tool for a team building experience in Stuttgart: fun, communication and collaboration are at the heart of it.
After the allotted game time we met again at the Kunstgebäude on Schlossplatz for the final award ceremony. The winning team Herzileins took first place with 225 points, followed by Winner with 165 points. The teams in first through third place received well-deserved medals — a great moment that highlighted the team spirit once more. The weather cooperated and the atmosphere was lively and upbeat.
This Murder Mystery Geocaching shows how varied a team building experience in Stuttgart can be: technology meets adventure, familiar landmarks become crime scenes and team cohesion grows in an entertaining way. I am already looking forward to the next investigations in Stuttgart and to guiding more teams on the trail.
