Team Building Event Wohnungsgenossenschaft "Karl Marx" Potsdam eG
Murder Mystery Geocaching combines city exploration, puzzle-solving and teamwork into a thrilling event concept.
As a team guide for CityHunters, I led a lively group from the housing cooperative Karl Marx Potsdam eG through our Murder Mystery Geocaching on July 11, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. The 18 participants met at Platz der Einheit, we greeted each other briefly, explained the plan and split into three teams — perfect for a genuine team building experience in Potsdam.
After the introduction the teams received their equipment and the app, which guided them through the investigation on tablet devices. Technology meets adventure: the app displayed crime scenes and tasks, and the participants set off in small groups to collect clues, solve puzzles and complete team challenges. Along the way they discovered well-known spots in Potsdam such as the Brandenburg Gate, Museum Barberini and the Marble Palace — the city backdrop and the crime plot formed an exciting combination.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and competed against each other in a friendly contest. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and skillfully completing the team challenges. I was reachable by phone throughout the game to help with questions or minor issues.
The weather was on our side, the mood cheerful and motivated — ideal for an intensive team building experience in Potsdam. After exactly three hours all groups returned to Platz der Einheit for the joint awards ceremony. The joy over successes and the lively exchanges about the quirkiest clues clearly showed that this format strengthens cohesion and is great fun.
The victory went to team Hunters with 300 points, followed by Potsdamer Schnitzel with 255 points and Sherlock with 240 points. Congratulations to the winners and a big compliment to all participants for their effort and team spirit.
Events like this are perfect if you want to combine a practical, varied and fun team building experience in Potsdam. I am already looking forward to the next investigations in this beautiful city.
