The 90 participants from index Internet und Mediaforschung GmbH set off full of energy and curiosity — as a CityHunters team guide I welcomed them on June 2, 2024 at 12:15 PM at Gustaf Adolfs Torg in Gothenburg. Split into 13 teams, they immediately began a lively Geocaching adventure that promised fun and a genuine team building experience in Gothenburg.
After a brief introduction I went over the rules, explained how to use the tablets with the CityHunters app, and got the teams ready to start. The mix of puzzles, creative tasks and exploring the city always produces great aha moments — a perfect kick-off for a team building experience in Gothenburg.
The teams set off and explored the city on their own. The tasks led them to well-known sights such as Gothenburg Cathedral, the Gothenburg Opera and the Gothenburg Art Museum, as well as to surprising spots in the city center. Participants cracked codes, gathered clues and completed team challenges, all in friendly competition for the highest score.
I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or minor problems came up. That availability gives the teams confidence while they take responsibility for their own progress. It is exactly this mix that makes our concept so strong: shared experiences, independent action and true teamwork.
After exactly three hours everyone met again at Gustaf Adolfs Torg for the awards ceremony. The mood was expectant and cheerful — and the perfect weather helped. The winning team Team chicken Dinner took first place with 375 points to great applause; GöteBürger came in second with 315 points, closely followed by Team Index 11, also with 315 points. The teams in first through third place proudly received their medals.
Events like this demonstrate how successful a team building experience in Gothenburg can be: combining playful competition, collaborative problem solving and the discovery of a fascinating city. As a guide it is always rewarding to watch the positive developments and the camaraderie unfold.
