Team Building Event Art of Events
Our event concept blends digital puzzle fun with real city exploration, creating lasting team spirit.
As a team guide I led an iPad Murder Mystery Tour for the company Art of Events on May 25, 2024 at 3:30 PM. The meeting point was the Paulaner Business Center on Klostergasse, where we warmly welcomed the 28 participants and gave a brief introduction to the game. After a quick demonstration of the iPads and a run-through of the format, the guests were split into five teams and set off into the adventure, eager and excited.
The route took the teams across Leipzigs vibrant city center, past impressive landmarks such as Leipzig University, the St. Thomas Church and the Gewandhaus. The iPads served as a digital compass, delivering clues and gripping criminal cases for the teams to solve. Points were awarded for correct answers and creative team tasks, so there was a constant battle for the lead that called for strategy, communication and a healthy dose of courage.
During the tour the groups were largely on their own and could discover the city at their own pace; I stayed reachable by phone to help with questions or technical issues. The weather cooperated and the mood was upbeat: laughter, joint brainstorming and mutual encouragement were front and center. That is exactly what makes for a great team building experience in Leipzig — shared experiences, experimentation and celebrating successes together.
After about two and a half hours everyone met back at the Paulaner Business Center for the award ceremony. The suspense was palpable before medals were handed out to the teams placing first through third. The lively atmosphere and many aha moments clearly demonstrated how effective our format is: a team building experience in Leipzig that is fun and creates lasting connections.
For me as a guide these afternoons are particularly rewarding because they show how quickly colleagues turn into a well-rehearsed team.
