Team Building Event Gamelight GmbH
Perfect spring weather accompanied our afternoon and created a great atmosphere for our Geocaching event.
As the CityHunters team guide, I welcomed 18 colleagues from Gamelight GmbH at the rear entrance of St. Petri Church on May 6, 2024 at 4:00 PM. After a brief introduction and an explanation of the format, the three teams set off equipped with clues, tasks and a healthy dose of curiosity. At the start we gave a short briefing so everyone was comfortable with the app and the rules.
The route took the teams across the city center of Old Town and offered fascinating glimpses into its variety. Along the way the groups discovered corners of the Speicherstadt, cast curious glances toward the Elbphilharmonie and soaked up the atmosphere near the main church St. Michaelis. Geocaching in Old Town is about experiencing the city anew: hidden clues, small puzzle stations and surprising tasks prompted teamwork and left everyone wanting more — genuine team building experience in Old Town.
The three teams competed in a friendly rivalry, earning points for solving puzzles correctly and completing team tasks. For the most part they were on their own; I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour and helped with questions or minor challenges. The competition produced lots of laughter, creative problem solving and a noticeably growing team dynamic — exactly the effect of an effective team building experience in Old Town.
After roughly two hours everyone met again at the rear entrance of St. Petri Church for the award ceremony. Medals for first through third place brought shining eyes — the winning team Garfield was celebrated despite showing 0 points on the sheet — and all participants took home the positive effects of this shared adventure. The mood was relaxed and joyful.
Geocaching in Old Town combines fun, discovery and cooperation in a special way. Anyone who would like to try a team building experience in Old Town will not only see well known sights like the Elbphilharmonie or the Speicherstadt, but will also enjoy refreshing team moments that linger long after the event.
