Team Building Event Carl-Zeiss SMT GmbH
Jena combines science, history and a vibrant city atmosphere in a special way.
As a CityHunters team guide, I led an iPad Tour on April 16, 2024 at 4:00 pm for 19 employees of Carl-Zeiss SMT GmbH. The meeting point was the B&B HOTEL Jena am Anger, where I welcomed the group and gave a brief introduction to the app and the iPads. The participants were divided into three teams, and soon the race for the most points began.
Our iPad Tour paired modern technology with urban discovery: the teams navigated Jena independently, solved puzzles, took on team tasks and collected points. At landmarks like the JenTower, Friedrich Schiller University Jena and the German Optical Museum there were exciting challenges that demanded observation, creativity and collaboration. The CityHunters app displayed the interim scores and kept the competition motivating.
During the tour I was reachable by phone in case any questions or minor technical issues came up. The teams organized themselves brilliantly, laughed a lot and developed shared strategies — exactly what a team building experience in Jena is so valuable for: creating shared moments that build trust and strengthen cohesion.
The weather cooperated: not perfect, but comfortably pleasant — just right for an active city exploration. The mix of fun, focus and a few surprising tasks kept spirits high. You could feel how colleagues quickly formed three strong teams, competing with and encouraging one another.
After about two and a half hours all groups met back at the B&B HOTEL Jena am Anger for the joint awards ceremony. Congratulations, lively conversations and lots of photos followed — a successful conclusion to an eventful afternoon. Moments like these are exactly what a team building experience in Jena makes so special: lively encounters in an inspiring city.
