Team Building Event Universität zu Köln
Our Geocaching concept blends discovery, puzzle fun, and genuine team spirit into a lively experience — exactly what I got to enjoy on March 13, 2024 with a group from the University of Cologne.
As a CityHunters team guide I welcomed the eight participants promptly at 2:30 pm at Neumarkt, the central meeting point. After a brief introduction and being split into two teams everyone received the necessary information on how to use our app and the game rules. This allowed the teams to set off independently on an exciting tour of Cologne.
With tablets as companions the challenges led the groups to both famous and lesser-known spots around the city — from the impressive Cologne Cathedral across the Hohenzollern Bridge to the Museum Ludwig. Using coordinates and tricky puzzles small competitions emerged where points were awarded for correctly solved tasks and creative team efforts. Time and again it became clear how important communication and mutual trust are: that is what makes an effective team building experience in Cologne.
During the two-hour tour the teams were on their own, eagerly collecting points. I remained reachable by phone to help with technical questions or uncertainties but deliberately stayed in the background so that joint problem solving and the group dynamics could take center stage. The tasks required reasoning, creativity, and team strength and produced many aha moments and hearty laughs.
The weather was pleasant: clear skies and a gentle breeze accompanied us, which helped lift the mood. After exactly two hours everyone met back at Neumarkt for the award ceremony. During the relaxed closing people celebrated, shared their experiences, and recognized the strongest team performances.
This event once again showed how effective and entertaining a team building experience in Cologne can be — discover, solve puzzles, and laugh together. Anyone looking to rediscover the city while strengthening their team will find our Geocaching format a perfect mix of sightseeing, fun, and real team building.
