Clear skies and fresh air accompanied our event – perfect weather for a round of Geocaching and a genuine team building experience in Düsseldorf.
As a CityHunters team guide, I had the pleasure of leading a team building event for 17 employees of thyssenkrupp management Consulting GmbH on January 18, 2024 at 2:00 PM. The meeting point was Carlsplatz in Düsseldorf, where I warmly welcomed the group and gave a brief introduction to the schedule. After a short briefing we formed three teams and handed each a tablet with the CityHunters app preinstalled so the Scavenger Hunt could begin.
The atmosphere was energetic from the start: divided into three groups we made our way through the lively Old Town to sights such as the Rheinturm, the Königsallee and the Museum Kunstpalast. Along the route the teams solved puzzles, cracked codes and completed creative group challenges – points were awarded for correct answers, clever tactics and teamwork. In this way every step became a moment of real team building experience in Düsseldorf through playful competition and shared problem-solving.
During the roughly two-and-a-half-hour tour the teams were on their own and could try out different strategies. I remained reachable by phone in case questions came up or technical help was needed – but most of the time team spirit was enough to keep them moving forward. It was especially rewarding to see colleagues contribute different strengths and encourage one another.
After 2.5 hours everyone met back at Carlsplatz for the award ceremony. As we tallied the points and reflected together the mood was celebratory: laughter, vivid anecdotes from individual stations and the satisfying feeling of having experienced something together. Moments like these make the team building experience in Düsseldorf so valuable – city exploration, competition and camaraderie in one.
Geocaching in Düsseldorf repeatedly shows that the city provides the perfect setting for active team building events. Whether cultural highlights, unexpected corners or shared challenges, memories that bring people together are created.
