Team Building Event VDIVDE-IT GmbH
Erfurt blends medieval charm and a lively city culture in a unique way, making it the perfect backdrop for an active CityHunters event.
As the team guide, I had the pleasure of leading an iPad Tour on December 19, 2023 at 2:00 PM for the 12 participants from VDIVDE-IT GmbH. The meeting point was the Augustinian Monastery on Augustinerstraße, where I warmly welcomed the group and gave a brief introduction to the iPads and the CityHunters app. Colleagues quickly split into two teams, setting up a friendly competition that called for teamwork, strategy and clear communication.
Our route took the groups through Erfurt city center and offered plenty of opportunities for real team experiences. Between stations with tricky puzzles and creative team tasks, participants discovered sights like Erfurt Cathedral, the Krämerbrücke and the Old Synagogue in a fresh, playful way. The iPads were the focal point – points, clues and the chance to interact via the app made the high-tech Scavenger Hunt especially dynamic.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and did their best to solve the challenges correctly. I stayed reachable by phone to help with technical questions or clarifications. The weather was decent and helped create a pleasant atmosphere; participants used the breaks to chat and enjoy the wintry feel of the city.
After about 2.5 hours we met back at the Augustinian Monastery for the award ceremony. The excitement was high, and with great joy we declared the winning team: Group 5 (with 0 points). Even though the final scores looked surprising, the shared experience was what mattered: laughter, creative problem-solving and building connections — that is what makes a team building experience in Erfurt so valuable.
The tour once again showed how much an interactive city exploration promotes team spirit.
