Team Building Event Stadt Essen

The eight participants from the company Stadt Essen arrived punctually at Burgplatz, full of anticipation and ready for our Murder Mystery Geocaching.

As the team guide I welcomed the group and, after a short introduction to the format, split them into two teams. Each person received a tablet loaded with our special app — the central tool for the cases that spread across downtown Essen. The app guided the teams to different crime scenes, presented puzzles and team tasks, and indicated which clues to search for next.

The tour passed iconic spots such as the Museum Folkwang, Essen Cathedral, and the Old Synagogue, which became exciting locations for the teams. There were lively discussions about clues, analysing traces, and collecting points together. It was impressive to see how quickly roles emerged within the teams and how the collaboration became such an effective team building experience in Essen.

Over the roughly three hours the teams moved independently and competed in a friendly race for the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and successfully completed team tasks — speed alone did not win; creativity and coordination counted. I stayed reachable by phone throughout in case anyone needed help or a hint, and I followed the developments with great interest.

The weather cooperated, contributing to a good mood and plenty of outdoor activity. The mix of suspense, puzzles, and city exploration made the team building event a particularly lively experience. Many participants later said they now see parts of Essen with completely different eyes.

At the agreed time everyone returned to Burgplatz for the award ceremony. In the short closing round the winning team was celebrated and the shared achievement recognised — a lovely finish to a successful team building experience in Essen. Experiences like this show how a team building experience in Essen strengthens collaboration, boosts communication, and is simply fun to do together.
