Team Building Event PepsiCo Nederland B.V.
Our iPad-based event concept blends city exploration, modern technology and playful challenges into an exciting team building experience.
On 25 October 2023 at 1:30 p.m. I had the pleasure of welcoming 33 colleagues from PepsiCo Nederland B.V. to Grabbeplatz as a CityHunters team guide. After a brief introduction to using the iPads and the CityHunters app, participants were split into four teams and the adventure began: a team building experience in Düsseldorf at its liveliest.
The tour took the groups through the city center, past landmarks like Königsallee, the Rheinturm and the Museum Kunstpalast. At each station they faced exciting puzzles and creative team challenges that required both brains and collaboration. The app kept teams connected in real time, displayed scores and provided little surprises to boost motivation.
During the roughly two-and-a-half-hour tour the teams moved independently and competed against each other in friendly rivalry. I was available by phone if help was needed and sent a few encouraging messages along the way. Despite the very bad weather the mood remained great — the rain simply became part of the adventure and did not diminish the fun of our team building event in Düsseldorf.
After 2.5 hours we met again at Grabbeplatz for the awards ceremony. The winning team Happy People took first place — with a surprising score of 0, which didn't lessen the good spirits or the fair competition. The winners received medals, and all participants were celebrated for their commitment and team spirit.
These kinds of experiences show how effective and entertaining a team building experience in Düsseldorf can be: history, culture and high-tech merge into an experience that brings colleagues closer together. Whether solving a tricky puzzle at the Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen or taking in the view of the Rhine waterfront — teamwork was always at the center.
I look forward to the next groups and to inspiring more teams about team building experiences in Düsseldorf.
