Team Building Event Bayer
The sun was shining and the weather couldn't have been better — a perfect setting for an active team building event in Cologne. On 26.09.2023 at 5:30 pm I had the pleasure of welcoming 42 colleagues from Bayer at Theo-Burauen-Platz as a CityHunters team guide and sending them off on an exciting Geocaching adventure.
After a short welcome and an introduction to the schedule and the app, participants were split into seven teams. Each team received a tablet with our CityHunters app and a quick run-through of how to solve the tasks — then they were off. The mix of puzzles, navigation and creative team challenges instantly sparked conversation and motivation.
Our route took us across the city center and offered plenty of chances to see Cologne in a new light: from impressive views of the Cologne Cathedral to a detour to the Hohenzollern Bridge and vivid impressions around the Museum Ludwig, genuine team spirit emerged. The teams were on their own and competed in good spirits to collect the most points, earned by correctly solved puzzles and collaborative tasks. This naturally created a team building experience in Cologne that was fun and brought people closer together.
During the tour I was available by phone to help with questions or technical issues. Many teams used the time to come up with creative solutions, coordinate with each other and play to each member's strengths. The result: lots of laughter, surprising aha moments and real progress in teamwork — exactly what a good team building experience in Cologne is all about.
After two and a half hours everyone met back at Theo-Burauen-Platz for the award ceremony. The atmosphere was celebratory, the winners were cheered and all participants took home a shared sense of achievement. Challenges like these connect people in a pleasant way and leave lasting memories.
As a team guide I never tire of seeing how Geocaching as an event format brings a team building experience in Cologne to life: exciting, connecting and full of discoveries. If you'd like a similarly motivating CityHunters experience, explore Cologne in a playful and sustainable way — it's well worth it.
