Team Building Event Stadt Essen
Eight colleagues from the city of Essen met me, their CityHunters team guide, on the morning of July 27, 2023 at 9:00 AM at Seaside Beach Baldeney, Weiße Flotte Anleger Strandbad to begin an iPad Murder Mystery Tour through Essen. After a brief welcome I split the group into two teams and gave a compact introduction to using the iPads — the map, task mode and the first clues were explained, and then we were off.
The teams were on their own during the tour and competed in a friendly race for the highest score. On the iPad Murder Mystery Tour each group cracked tricky puzzles, completed team tasks and collected points for correct solutions. The digital clues led us past well-known spots such as the Museum Folkwang, the Essen Minster and the Old Synagogue — perfect locations for an exciting detective story. I remained reachable by phone throughout the game in case any questions or technical issues came up.
The weather showed its rougher side, but spirits stayed high: rain and wind created a dramatic backdrop that made the story even more intense. Weather like that really brings people together: umbrellas were shared, creative solutions were found and the bond between participants grew with every solved task. What began as a wet morning turned into a wonderful experience full of fun and learning — a real team building experience in Essen that connected everyone.
After three hours both teams reunited at the starting point for the joint awards ceremony. The closing meeting was full of laughter, well-deserved recognition for clever ideas and, of course, the crowning of the winning team. This kind of team building experience in Essen shows how communication, problem-solving and team spirit can be strengthened playfully while discovering the city from a new perspective.
