Team Building Event REWE Deutscher Supermarkt AG&Co. KGaA
Radiant sunshine accompanied us that afternoon, creating the perfect atmosphere for exciting discoveries in Magdeburg.
As the team guide for CityHunters I welcomed 26 colleagues from REWE Deutscher Supermarkt AG & Co. KGaA at Ulrichsplatz in front of the Ulrichshaus on 11 July 2023 at 2:45 PM. After a brief introduction to the iPad Murder Mystery app and the rules, we split the group into five teams. The excitement was palpable: everyone was ready for an intense team building experience in Magdeburg.
The teams then set off on their own clue hunt. The iPads led them from station to station, past landmarks such as Magdeburg Cathedral, the Green Citadel of Magdeburg and the Cultural History Museum. The challenges demanded logic, speed and above all cooperation. Teams collected points by solving puzzles correctly and working together on team tasks — a true crime duel full of fun.
During the tour the groups were largely left to their own devices, so real teamwork was required. I remained reachable by phone for any technical issues or questions. That way everyone could fully immerse themselves in the cases while experiencing the city from a fresh perspective. Events like this always show how effective a team building experience in Magdeburg can be.
After exactly two hours we met again at Ulrichsplatz in front of the Ulrichshaus for the awards ceremony. The atmosphere was lively: some teams had worked strategically, others impressed with creativity. To finish, every participant received a personalized certificate as a memento of the day — a small recognition of the shared achievement.
The mix of puzzles, competition and urban exploration makes our iPad Murder Mystery Tour a refreshing format for company events. As a guide it was once again a pleasure to watch colleagues get to know one another anew and see team spirit grow. A team building experience in Magdeburg like this is something the participants will remember for a long time.
