Team Building Event DB Fernverkehr AG
As a team guide for CityHunters, I had the pleasure of leading a special Murder Mystery Geocaching event for DB Fernverkehr AG in Cologne on July 3, 2023 at 4:30 PM. Thirty enthusiastic participants met at Theo-Burauen-Platz, where our exciting mission began. After a brief introduction I split the group into five teams and explained the plan: tablets, an app and plenty of tricky cases awaited the investigators.
The teams set off – a pure team building experience in Cologne. During the tour the groups moved independently and enjoyed a friendly competition for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and successful team tasks. I stayed reachable by phone throughout the playing time in case any questions or technical problems arose.
Our route led the teams past well-known landmarks: from the impressive Cologne Cathedral across the Hohenzollern Bridge to intriguing spots near Museum Ludwig. These sights became the scenes of mysterious cases and provided a fantastic backdrop for the Murder Mystery Geocaching. The mix of puzzles, navigation and local knowledge made the event not only exciting but also a strong boost to group cohesion.
The weather cooperated, contributing bright sunshine and a great atmosphere. Laughter, debates over supposed clues and the cheering call of a team that had just cracked a puzzle could be heard again and again. Those shared moments of success are exactly what makes a team building experience in Cologne so valuable.
After three intense hours all teams returned to Theo-Burauen-Platz for the awards ceremony. It was wonderful to see how committed everyone was and how individual strengths came together in the team performances. The short debriefs and on-site exchanges rounded off the experience perfectly.
This Murder Mystery Geocaching event was once again a wonderful example of how much fun and added value a shared experience can create. Whether as a company outing or a company summer party, a team building experience in Cologne connects, motivates and stays memorable. I look forward to the next shared adventure in Cologne!
