The weather that afternoon was simply perfect – sunshine and a light breeze accompanied our Geocaching adventure through Cologne.
On June 16, 2023 at 3:45 PM I had the pleasure of welcoming 98 enthusiastic colleagues from Deloitte Consulting GmbH at the Cologne Triangle on Ottoplatz as a CityHunters team guide. After a brief introduction to the format and how to use the app, the groups got ready: we had 14 teams eager to explore the city in a playful way.
The concept was simple and effective: armed with tablets and the CityHunters app, the teams set off to explore the city center, solving puzzles and creative team tasks. Whether at the foot of the Cologne Cathedral, along the Hohenzollern Bridge, or passing the Museum Ludwig, small challenges and hidden clues that earned points awaited everywhere. The team building experience in Cologne thus took on a very hands-on and lively form.
During the tour the teams were on their own, competing in a friendly contest for the most points. I stayed available by phone in case any questions or technical issues came up – a quick call was enough for me to provide fast support. The mix of navigation, creativity, and teamwork produced many laughs, surprising ideas, and genuine shared moments of success.
After exactly two hours we met back at the Cologne Triangle for the award ceremony. The excitement was high: which team had found the best solutions and scored the most points? The winning team was honored with medals, and the other groups celebrated the successful shared experience. Such moments make the team building experience in Cologne especially memorable.
For me it was a thoroughly successful event: perfect conditions, engaged participants, and a noticeably stronger sense of togetherness by the end of the day.
