Team Building Event Verband Druck und Medien Bayern
The event concept combines Murder Mystery Geocaching and digital technology into an exciting team building event that blends city exploration with teamwork.
As a team guide I had the pleasure of leading a team building event for the Verband Druck und Medien Bayern in Erlangen on 13 May 2023 at 12:00. The meeting point was Hugenottenplatz, where eight participants gathered and I welcomed them briefly. After a concise briefing and the distribution of tablets, the participants were split into two teams — the excitement was tangible and the mood immediately positive and motivating.
Armed with tablets and our custom app, the teams set off to solve tricky cases and rediscover the city. Their route took them past landmarks such as Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg, the Botanical Garden Erlangen and the Hugenottenkirche. These sights briefly became crime scenes, providing clues the teams had to decipher together.
During the roughly two-hour tour the teams competed independently: points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and joint team tasks. I remained reachable by phone and provided support when needed — usually a quick hint was enough to get them moving again. The mix of challenging tasks, time pressure and shared successes delivers exactly what we aim for with a team building experience in Erlangen: stronger cohesion, better communication and above all a lot of fun.
The weather cooperated, the sun accompanied the groups on their investigations and the atmosphere was consistently cheerful and engaged. After two hours we met again at Hugenottenplatz for the awards ceremony. During the debrief the teams were able to share their experiences, laugh and relive the highlights.
This Murder Mystery Geocaching was a real highlight for everyone involved — exciting, interactive and ideal for a team building experience in Erlangen. Anyone who wants to see the city from a new perspective and strengthen team spirit will find an experience here that will be remembered for a long time.
