Team Building Event Ferrero Deutschland GmbH
The 15 participants from Ferrero Deutschland GmbH met on 10 May 2023 at 1:30 PM for an iPad Tour in Heidelberg, full of curiosity and team spirit.
As CityHunters Teamguide I welcomed the group at Universitätsplatz and gave a short, clear introduction to using the iPads and the CityHunters App. After a few minutes the process of Explore – Solve – Score became clear and the excitement was tangible. The tour began at this central meeting point and promised exactly what makes a team building experience in Heidelberg so special: playful learning combined with city exploration.
The group was split into three teams and each team received an iPad as its hub. The CityHunters App connected the teams in real time, displayed the scoreboards and allowed brief hints via live chat. From then on the teams were on their own, competing in a friendly contest to collect as many points as possible by solving puzzles correctly and completing creative team tasks.
The route led the teams through the historic heart of Heidelberg: passing Heidelberg University, a detour to Heidelberg Castle, the Church of the Holy Spirit and the Old Bridge provided repeated opportunities for small challenges, observations and team decisions. Sightseeing thus turned into an active, memorable team building experience in Heidelberg.
The weather cooperated — pleasant and mild, so the beach-chair clichés were unnecessary but the mood was lifted all the same. I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour to help with technical questions or uncertainties. That kept the flow smooth and allowed the teams to focus on strategy, communication and fun.
After about two and a half hours everyone met again at Universitätsplatz for the joint awards ceremony. In the short debrief it became clear that it was not just about points, but about shared experiences, new insights into colleagues and plenty of good spirits. Our finale showed how effective a team building experience in Heidelberg can be.
I am already looking forward to the next time — an iPad Tour combines technology, culture and team spirit in a special way and stays memorable for a long time.
