Team Building Event TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH
The weather was perfect: bright sunshine and pleasant temperatures accompanied us on our iPad Tour in Cologne.
As a CityHunters team guide, I had the pleasure of welcoming a lively group of 11 colleagues from TÜV Rheinland Industrie Service GmbH on April 21, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Motel One on Tel-Aviv-Straße. After a short introduction to using the iPads and the CityHunters app, the participants were split into three teams and the game format was explained. The technology was both starting point and engine — the app presented tasks, collected points and provided real-time feedback on the standings.
Then we set off: three teams, three strategies and one shared goal — have fun and grow together as a team. Our route led the groups through Cologne’s lively center, past well-known sights such as the Cologne Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge and the Museum Ludwig. At various stations there were puzzles and creative team tasks that demanded observation, communication and ingenuity. Sightseeing was combined with active team building experience — genuine team building experience in Cologne that connects people.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and could choose their own routes. I was reachable by phone if questions arose or technical assistance was needed, and could provide discreet support without interrupting the game. The CityHunters app helped maintain the excitement: live scores and small hints kept motivation and competitive spirit high.
After exactly two hours everyone met back at the Motel One for the joint award ceremony. The atmosphere was exuberant, faces satisfied: first to third place were honored with medals and there was much applause for creative solutions and strong team performance. For many participants the iPad experience was a new, modern way to explore the city — playful, interactive and perfect as a team building event.
Team building experience in Cologne can hardly be better experienced: culture, technology and team spirit in a format that will be remembered for a long time. I am already looking forward to the next groups who want to discover Cologne with us.
