Team Building Event DHL Freight Germany Holding GmbH
As a CityHunters team guide I had the pleasure on 21 March 2023 at 15:30 to lead a special iPad Tour for 36 colleagues from DHL Freight Germany Holding GmbH in Cologne. The meeting point was Theo-Burauen-Platz, where I warmly welcomed the group and introduced the concept. After a brief introduction to the CityHunters app and the iPads, the participants split into five teams and the adventure began — a real team building experience in Cologne that immediately sparked energy and curiosity.
Our iPad Tour blends modern technology with city exploration: teams navigated the city centre independently, solved interactive puzzles and tackled creative team challenges. It wasn’t just about speed but about cooperation, communication and ingenuity. The app displayed interim standings and created a motivating sense of competition — a perfect example of a team building experience in Cologne with a playful edge.
The route led to some of Cologne’s most beautiful spots and sights. Passing the Cologne Cathedral, along the Hohenzollernbrücke and within sight of Museum Ludwig, teams discovered cultural highlights as well as surprising little urban corners. At each stop new challenges awaited that tested team spirit and powers of observation.
During the tour the groups were largely on their own and developed their own strategies. Points were awarded for correctly solving the puzzles and successfully completing the tasks. I remained reachable by phone so I could quickly assist with questions or technical issues — keeping the flow going and the atmosphere upbeat.
The weather cooperated and contributed greatly to the positive mood. Everywhere there were smiling faces, lively discussions and colleagues getting to know each other in new ways. These shared experiences are exactly what makes a team building experience in Cologne so effective: they create memories and connections that last long after the event.
After about three hours all teams met again at Theo-Burauen-Platz for the award ceremony. Applause, congratulations and a beaming winning team rounded off the afternoon. This iPad Tour once again showed how much fun, motivation and cohesion an interactive urban adventure can bring.
