Team Building Event ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH
Murder Mystery Geocaching combines city exploration, puzzle-solving and teamwork into an engaging event concept — which is exactly what I led for a group from ONTRAS Gastransport GmbH in Chemnitz on September 23, 2025.
As the team guide I met the six participants at Jakobikirchplatz at 1:30 p.m. and welcomed them to an exciting afternoon of sleuthing. After a short briefing and the distribution of the tablets, the teams set off in their investigator roles: the app led them to various crime scenes, offered cryptic clues and presented team tasks that could only be solved together. Along the way the colleagues discovered a new side of Chemnitz — a true team building experience.
During the tour the teams operated independently and competed in a friendly race for the most points. Points were earned for correctly solved puzzles and creative team tasks. I remained available by phone throughout the game in case of questions or technical issues, but deliberately intervened only minimally — which helped foster genuine team spirit and independent action.
The route took the groups past well-known landmarks that became the scenes of the investigations: from the striking Karl Marx Monument to the historic Red Tower and the State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz, the city provided exciting backdrops for our challenges. This blend of sights and a murder mystery case made the team experience especially vivid and promoted exactly what matters: communication, creativity and cohesion.
In beautiful weather all teams returned to Jakobikirchplatz after exactly two hours, where we held the joint awards ceremony. The mood was exuberant, and the participants enthusiastically shared their aha moments and team strategies — a complete success for our team building experience in Chemnitz.
