Team Building Event ELA Container GmbH
Chemnitz combines industrial charm and a lively urban history in a distinctly memorable way.
As a CityHunters team guide, I welcomed twelve motivated colleagues from ELA Container GmbH at Jakobikirchplatz on September 2, 2025 at 4:00 PM for an exciting Murder Mystery Geocaching, an interactive whodunit that mixes challenging puzzles with city exploration. After a brief briefing we split the group into three teams and equipped each group with a tablet running our bespoke app, which presented the cases and tasks.
Then Chemnitz drew everyone in with its striking landmarks: from the imposing Karl Marx Monument past historic squares and near the State Museum of Archaeology Chemnitz to the Old Town Hall, well-known sights became the scenes of little mysteries. During the tour the teams operated independently and competed in a friendly contest for the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles and for collaborative team tasks that called for communication and creativity.
I was reachable by phone throughout the entire game in case of technical questions or clarifications, so everything proceeded calmly and focused. The weather was mild and pleasant enough to enjoy the city and comfortable for active group work.
After 2.5 hours all teams met again at Jakobikirchplatz for the award ceremony. Anticipation was high when the results were announced: The winning team Die 6 lustigen 7 prevailed convincingly, achieving an impressive 360 points. Afterwards there was time for conversation, laughter and genuine recognition of the team performances.
This event was a perfect example of a team building experience in Chemnitz: playful, challenging and connecting. A team building experience in Chemnitz could hardly be better — the combination of puzzle fun, city exploration and shared successes created a lasting memory. I am already looking forward to the next Murder Mystery Geocaching and to guiding teams through the city again.
