Team Building Event Diakonie im Braunschweiger Land gGmbH

As a team guide for CityHunters, I had the pleasure of leading a special event for Diakonie im Braunschweiger Land gGmbH on June 26, 2025 at 9:45 a.m. Sixty-five colleagues met at the Platz der Deutschen Einheit and were divided into ten teams before the start. The excitement was palpable — a great kickoff for a real team building experience in Brunswick.

After a brief welcome and run-through of the schedule, the teams received the necessary tools, including tablets with our CityHunters app. I explained the tour structure, gave instructions on procedure and safety, and made it clear that during the Scavenger Hunt the groups would be on their own; I would be reachable by phone for any questions. That leaves room for independent problem solving and collaborative thinking.

The Scavenger Hunt took the teams across Brunswick city center, past landmarks such as Brunswick Cathedral, Dankwarderode Castle and the Brunswick Lion. At each station there were puzzles and team tasks to complete — points were awarded for correct answers, creativity and quick action. It is precisely this mix that makes our team building experience in Brunswick so special: experiencing culture while tackling challenges together.

The weather was pleasant and matched the upbeat mood: warm enough for activity, with the occasional friendly cloud. Team spirit was visible everywhere, with loud laughter and focused heads decoding clues. Moments like these strengthen camaraderie and show how effective working together can be outside the office.

After two and a half hours all teams met again at the Platz der Deutschen Einheit for the award ceremony. The competition was tight — much respect to the winning team Die letzten… with 375 points. In second place came Mein Lieblingsteam with 285 points, closely followed by Die fünf Löwen, also with 285 points. That tension and the shared finish are perfect ingredients for a successful team building experience in Brunswick.

I truly enjoyed guiding this event and supporting the groups as they discovered the city. Anyone wanting to experience Brunswick in a new way, whether at the cathedral, around the castle or in the museum, will find with us a varied mix of sightseeing and a team building event. We look forward to the next adventure in Brunswick!
