As a CityHunters team guide I had the pleasure of launching a lively iPad Tour on November 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM for 19 colleagues from BetterDoc GmbH. We met at Kaiser-Wilhelm-Ring in front of BetterDoc's offices. After a brief introduction to the CityHunters app and the iPads the participants were split into three teams and the race for points began.
Our iPad Tour in Cologne combines modern technology with playful city exploration: the teams navigated independently to exciting locations, solved puzzles and completed creative group challenges. The tasks demanded observation, communication and inventiveness, creating a real team building experience in Cologne. I was reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or technical issues came up.
The weather was not on our side — rain and wind accompanied the route. That actually added to the atmosphere: rain ponchos, shared laughter under umbrellas and huddling together in small groups boosted team spirit and made the experience even more intense. Moments like those show how much a team building experience in Cologne brings people together.
The route took the groups past iconic sights: views of the Cologne Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge with its love locks and modern highlights around the Museum Ludwig, along with many hidden little details of the city. Culture and fun were perfectly combined.
After two hours everyone reconvened at the starting point for the award ceremony. With great cheers the team Sharknito claimed first place with 135 points. In second were the 7 Musketeers with 120 points, followed by Team 2 with 45 points. The prizegiving was a fitting end to a dynamic afternoon full of team spirit.
The iPad Tour remains a perfect format for a team building experience in Cologne: entertaining, interactive and refreshingly new — ideal for getting to know colleagues better and creating special moments together in this fascinating city.
