The weather was at its best and provided the perfect backdrop for our iPad Murder Mystery Tour in Bonn on October 2, 2024 at 10:00 AM.
As a team guide for CityHunters I welcomed the group from the German Childhood Cancer Foundation at our meeting point on Adenauerallee. A total of 20 participants had come along, and I divided them into four teams. After a brief welcome and a short introduction to using the iPads, the adventure began: the CityHunters app led the teams to thrilling cases and posed puzzles that could only be solved together.
Our route passed Bonn's best-known sights — from the Beethoven House and the Bonn Minster to Poppelsdorf Palace — showing the city from a whole new perspective. The teams were left to their own devices and competed in a friendly contest. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and creative team challenges; speed, problem-solving and communication were all equally important.
During the roughly 2.5-hour tour I was reachable by phone for all groups in case they needed help. This format is what makes the team building experience in Bonn so effective: participants share moments of success, laugh over misunderstandings and strengthen collaboration almost without realizing it. The combination of digital clues and real-world locations keeps everyone actively engaged.
At the end all teams regrouped at our starting point on Adenauerallee for the award ceremony. Congratulations to the winning team Sechs in the City with 130 points, closely followed by Tatort Bonn also with 130 points. In third place came Die ????? with 90 points. The mood was jubilant and everyone was proud of what they had achieved together.
