Team Building Event RWE Offshore Wind GmbH
Ten participants from RWE Offshore Wind GmbH met punctually at 3:30 pm at the rear of the main church Sankt Petri, ready for an exciting team adventure through the city. As the CityHunters team guide I greeted them warmly, gave a short briefing on the schedule and explained how our equipment and the app work. Then we split into two teams and handed out the tablets — the foundation for our Geocaching in Old Town and a true team building experience in Old Town.
On the tour through Old Town the teams were largely on their own and quickly slipped into competitive mode. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and collaborative team tasks that required both brains and creativity. I remained reachable by phone throughout to help with questions or resolve minor technical hiccups. The clues led the groups to landmarks like the Elbphilharmonie, through the historic Speicherstadt and near the imposing Chilehaus — perfect backdrops for our Geocaching in Old Town and for a lasting team building experience in Old Town.
The weather cooperated and the mood was both cheerful and focused. It was great to watch how participants complemented one another: one person read clues particularly quickly, others took charge of creative task solving or photographing finds. That exact combination makes our Geocaching experience so valuable for a team building experience in Old Town: shared challenges, mutual support and lots of fun discovering the city.
After exactly three hours everyone met again at the rear of the main church Sankt Petri for the awards ceremony. To loud applause the team Fast and Furious claimed first place with 300 points, closely followed by Rudamental Ballons with 195 points. Moments like these — cheering winners, words of praise and a joint debrief — are what our concept is all about.
Whether as a company outing or a team building event, Geocaching in Old Town combines city discovery with play and provides a lasting boost to team spirit. I look forward to more groups who want to experience Old Town in this interactive way.
