Team Building Event Aurelios Augenzentrum Recklinghausen
The weather that afternoon was perfect: sunny, mild and just right for an exciting discovery tour through Olpe.
As a CityHunters team guide I led an iPad Murder Mystery Tour on September 20, 2024 at 2:00 PM for 60 motivated colleagues from Aurelios Augenzentrum Recklinghausen. We met on Kurfürst-Heinrich-Straße in Olpe, welcomed the group and split them into ten teams. Shortly after the adventure began, with everyone full of anticipation and curious glances at the iPad screens.
Each team received a tablet with the CityHunters app and, after a short briefing, dove straight into the competition for the most points. The team building experience in Olpe was clearly the focus: solving puzzles together, analyzing clues and tackling creative tasks quickly brought each group together and produced plenty of laughs and aha moments.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and explored the town independently. The route led past highlights such as St. Martinus Church, the historical fountain and remnants of the old city fortifications — perfect backdrops for our fictional crime scenes. I was available by phone throughout the game in case any questions or technical issues arose.
Over three hours the teams competed with brainpower and team spirit: correct puzzle solutions and successful team tasks earned points, while speed and creativity paid off. When the time was up we met again on Kurfürst-Heinrich-Straße for the award ceremony. It was tense until the last minute and then the winners were announced: Look and See took first place with 190 points; close behind were Bulbus and Team Panum, each with 190 points. The winners celebrated with shiny medals and the recognition of the whole group.
