Team Building Event TOMRA Sorting GmbH
The event concept combined adventure, puzzle fun and team spirit into a true experience: Geocaching meets sightseeing — perfect for a team building experience in Old Town.
As a CityHunters team guide I welcomed the group from TOMRA Sorting GmbH on July 5, 2024 at 2:45 p.m. at the rear of St. Peter's Church. After a short introduction and the distribution of tablets with the CityHunters app preinstalled, participants were divided into seven teams. The mood was immediately upbeat and excited — the perfect basis for an active team building experience in Old Town.
We set off through the city center: the tour led our groups to well-known and tucked-away spots where teams set off on their own clue hunts. Along the way they tackled tricky puzzles and creative team tasks that earned points — observation, problem-solving and cooperation were all in demand. In addition to classic sights like the Speicherstadt and the Elbphilharmonie, surprising corners and small city anecdotes came up as well.
I remained reachable by phone throughout the tour in case of questions or technical issues. After about 2 hours and 45 minutes all teams reconvened at the rear of St. Peter's Church for the debrief and awards ceremony. The weather cooperated, the sun put the city in a lovely light and boosted everyone’s spirits.
The atmosphere at the awards ceremony was celebratory: in first place was team Ü50 with 285 points. Second place went to Schlandei with 255 points, closely followed by Menyazovutchristoph in third with also 255 points. All participants enjoyed the shared experience and the positive encounters during the tour.
Geocaching in Old Town offers a lively way to bring colleagues together, foster communication and rediscover the city. Whether the Elbphilharmonie, the Chilehaus or the Speicherstadt, such tours create memories and strengthen team spirit. I’m already looking forward to the next team building experience in Old Town with new groups and new adventures!
