Team Building Event ILG Holding GmbH
Perfect summer weather accompanied us at the Geocaching event and set the mood from the very beginning.
As a CityHunters team guide I had the pleasure of welcoming 65 employees of ILG Holding GmbH on July 4, 2024 at 11:30 AM — the meeting point was Geschwister-Scholl-Platz in Old Town. After a short introduction the participants split into 10 teams and received the necessary clues as well as the CityHunters app on tablet devices. I explained the format and rules, stayed reachable by phone throughout the tour and offered assistance when needed.
The route took us through the vibrant heart of Old Town: along the way the teams discovered exciting corners around the Frauenkirche, the New Town Hall and the Deutsches Museum. The combination of city exploration, tricky puzzles and creative team challenges turned the event into a true journey of discovery. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and for successfully completed team tasks, keeping the competition thrilling until the last minute.
During the tour each team was on its own and could develop its own strategy. These kinds of shared challenges are exactly what make a team building experience in Old Town so effective: communication, cooperation and a good dose of creativity often led to success. Many teams also used the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere of the city between stations and get a little taste of authentic Old Town life.
After 2.5 hours everyone met again at Geschwister-Scholl-Platz for the award ceremony. The joy over the shared experiences was great and the winning team was celebrated with applause: Team Nummer 7 took first place with 195 points, closely followed by Schnapsi with 180 points. Moments like these show how lasting a team building experience in Old Town can be.
For me as a guide it was a great pleasure to see how individuals became a team, how ideas formed and how much energy and good spirits were in the group. Geocaching in Old Town combines adventure, fun and team spirit — an ideal way to rediscover the city and grow together as a team.
