Team Building Event Werkstätten der Arbeiterwohlfahrt

The weather was perfect and accompanied our CityHunters tour through Dortmund beautifully.

On 08.06.2024 I met the 13 participants from the workshops of the Arbeiterwohlfahrt at Hansaplatz at 5:00 pm. After a brief welcome and introduction I explained the schedule, showed how to use the tablet with the CityHunters app preinstalled and split the group into two teams. That’s how our exciting team building experience in Dortmund began — everyone was curious and eager to get started.

The route took the teams through Dortmund’s vibrant city center, past landmarks like St. Reinoldi, the German Football Museum and the Marienkirche. The groups were on their own and competed against each other in a friendly contest. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles, creative approaches to team tasks and finding hidden clues. Again and again you could feel communication and cooperation strengthen — that’s exactly what makes our team building experience in Dortmund so valuable.

During the three hours I was available by phone as a team guide and supported them with questions or small uncertainties. The independence required during the tasks encouraged creativity and team spirit: colleagues discovered strengths in one another that might rarely be visible in the office. The mix of fun, excitement and light competition produced many laughs and motivating moments.

After exactly three hours everyone met again at Hansaplatz for the joint awards ceremony. The atmosphere was jubilant, the results were celebrated and the teams had reason to be proud of their performance. This event once again showed how well shared experiences, wonder and togetherness can come together — a great example of a successful team building experience in Dortmund. If you’re up for a similar adventure I look forward to discovering Dortmund with you again soon.
