Team Building Event EdDE e.V.
On June 5, 2024 at 1:30 PM I had the pleasure of guiding a fantastic Geocaching experience for 12 members of the association EdDE e.V. in Cologne. The meeting point was Theo-Burauen-Platz, where I welcomed the group and gave a brief overview of the plan.
After a short introduction and handing out tablets with the CityHunters app preinstalled, we split the participants into three teams. With a clear mission and high spirits, the teams set off — a team building experience in Cologne at its best: solving puzzles, decoding clues and mastering creative team tasks.
The route led through well-known and charming parts of the city, past highlights such as the Cologne Cathedral, the Hohenzollern Bridge and Museum Ludwig. Between historic facades and lively squares a great dynamic quickly developed: teams worked things out, laughed and supported one another while collecting points for correct answers.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and competed in a friendly rivalry. If questions or small uncertainties arose I was reachable by phone to support and keep the game flowing. The lovely weather helped too — sunshine created a great atmosphere and kept everyone motivated.
A team building experience in Cologne can be so lively and varied: tasks demanded problem solving, creativity and communication — and those moments really strengthen group cohesion. It was especially rewarding to see different strengths come together and teams cheer each other on.
After exactly 3 hours we met again at Theo-Burauen-Platz for the awards ceremony. The excitement was palpable as the points were added up, and the applause for the winners made for a celebratory finish. There was plenty of praise, photos and many happy faces.
This event showed once again that Geocaching is a wonderful way to create a team building experience in Cologne. Anyone who wants to rediscover the city while strengthening team bonds will have a varied and sustainable team building event that will be remembered for a long time.
