Team Building Event BayWa r.e. AG
As a CityHunters team guide, I had the pleasure of leading a lively Geocaching event on 15 May 2024 for 23 colleagues from BayWa r.e. AG in Old Town. We met at the Theatiner Church at Odeonsplatz, greeted one another warmly and briefly set the tone for the adventure. The group was split into four teams, and then it was off: a team building experience in Old Town at its most energetic.
Each team received a tablet with the CityHunters app and a short briefing on the schedule and safety rules. Then the teams set off to explore the city on their own. Along the route participants discovered historic and vibrant corners of Old Town, from the Theatiner Church past the Frauenkirche and on toward the Deutsches Museum and the New Town Hall. The blend of puzzles, team tasks and navigation kept the tour varied and challenging.
Over the three hours the teams competed in friendly rivalry for the highest score. Points were awarded for correctly solved puzzles and for creative, cooperative team tasks. I was reachable by phone throughout the tour in case any questions or minor issues arose — often a quick hint was enough for everyone to continue safely. The weather stayed pleasant, which lifted the mood even more.
At the end everyone reconvened at Odeonsplatz for the awards ceremony. Tension ran high as the scores were added up. Surprisingly, the victory went to the team Kaiserschmarrn Model with 0 points, an unexpected result that brought plenty of laughs and great spirits. It is exactly these moments that make a team building experience in Old Town so special: shared memories that connect people and linger long after the event.
This event clearly demonstrated how much fun collective puzzling and exploring can be. Whether you admire historic facades, uncover hidden details in the Residenz or stroll along the Isar, Geocaching offers a playful way to rediscover Old Town. If you are looking for a team building experience in Old Town, we look forward to exciting you with a tailored tour.
