Team Building Event Westnetz GmbH
The concept: An iPad Murder Mystery Tour turns colleagues into investigators, combining puzzle fun with an active team building experience in Kamp-Lintfort.
As team guide I had the pleasure of welcoming 85 motivated employees of Westnetz GmbH on 21 November 2023 at 5:00 pm. The meeting point was the Wellings Parkhotel in Kamp-Lintfort, where I warmly greeted the groups, gave a brief introduction to the iPads and sent the 19 teams off on the exciting Scavenger Hunt.
With the iPad as their main tool, the teams set off independently through the town center. The digital map and clues led them past well-known spots like Zeche Friedrich Heinrich, Bergwerk West and the Alt-Siedlung Friedrich-Heinrich. At each location there were brainteasers and team tasks, with points awarded for correct answers — creating a competitive yet fair spirit among the teams.
During the tour the teams were largely on their own and could rely on their own tactics, communication and creativity — precisely what makes a team building experience in Kamp-Lintfort so valuable. I remained reachable by phone for questions and provided support when needed, without interrupting the flow of the game.
The weather cooperated, with sunshine accompanying the groups along their routes and creating a particularly pleasant atmosphere. After two hours everyone gathered again at the Wellings Parkhotel for the joint awards ceremony. The pleasure of the shared experience was clear to feel — conversations about solutions and delightful discoveries in Kamp-Lintfort filled the evening.
Notably, the winning team was Team 1 with 0 points — an unusual but joyfully celebrated placement that brought plenty of laughter. In the end it was not just the competition but above all the fun and the shared experience that mattered.
