On 30 October 2023 at 4:00 pm I had the pleasure as team guide of welcoming the colleagues from Donau Speditions Gesellschaft Kiessling mbH & Co.KG at the Kohlenmarkt. Seventeen participants met there, we split the group into three teams and briefly explained the format of our Murder Mystery Geocaching: an exciting participatory crime story combined with modern technology and plenty of team spirit.
Equipped with tablets and our app, the teams set off and discovered Regensburg from a new perspective. At various stations along the route they gathered clues, solved puzzles and worked together to complete tasks. Points were awarded for correct answers and successful team challenges – quickly turning it into a friendly competition for the best detective performance.
During the tour the groups were largely on their own, which encouraged joint planning and communication. I was reachable by phone in case any questions or minor issues came up, and I enjoyed seeing the creative approaches and the camaraderie again and again. The weather was quite decent and helped create a pleasant mood, so everyone stayed motivated and curious.
After exactly two hours we met again at the Kohlenmarkt for the award ceremony. Looking back it was clear how much this event strengthened the sense of togetherness: laughter, conversations and pride over solved cases marked the finale. For many it was a surprisingly intense experience – a clear example of an effective team building experience in Regensburg.
