Team Building Event DKFZ
The weather was perfect for us today, setting the scene for a lively day full of team spirit. On 23 October 2023 at 12:15 PM I met the 148 participants from DKFZ as the CityHunters team guide at the Dorint Hotel Oberursel (Taunus) on Königsteiner Straße — ready for our iPad Tour through Oberursel (Taunus). In total, 22 enthusiastic teams formed and waited eagerly for the start.
Our iPad Tour blends history, culture and modern technology into an exciting experience. After a brief introduction to the iPads and the CityHunters App, the teams were ready to go. The app served as the hub of the Scavenger Hunt, displaying tasks and scores and turning the whole thing into an interactive team building event.
During the tour the groups were on their own, competing in a friendly contest. Points were earned by correctly solving puzzles and completing team challenges. I was available by phone the entire time in case anyone needed support — and of course I enjoyed every success report from the teams.
Oberursel (Taunus) showed its best side: between stops like St. Ursula, the Vortaunus Museum and the Old Post Office, participants discovered little anecdotes, architectural details and surprising corners of the town. This form of team building experience in Oberursel (Taunus) lets people experience the town center anew and get to know colleagues in a different way.
After about 1 hour and 45 minutes, all groups returned to the Dorint Hotel for the joint awards ceremony. At the end the winning team was announced: Team 15 took the victory — with 0 points, an unexpected but joyfully celebrated surprise that gave everyone something to talk about and further strengthened the team spirit.
Days like this show how effective team building experience in Oberursel (Taunus) can be: playful, creative and connecting. I am already looking forward to the next event and to exploring Oberursel (Taunus) with groups again.
