Team Building Event Menzell & Döhle GmbH & Co. KG
On September 21, 2023, the 26 participants from Menzell & Döhle GmbH & Co. KG met with great anticipation for the iPad Murder Mystery Tour in Old Town — motivated, curious and ready to solve puzzles together.
As team guide I welcomed the group at the Steigenberger Hotel Treudelberg on Lemsahler Landstraße, gave a brief rundown of the format and split everyone into four energetic teams. Each team received an iPad with our CityHunters app, a short introduction to the controls and the rules — then the adventure began: an exciting iPad Murder Mystery Tour across Old Town.
The teams moved independently during the tour and competed in a friendly contest to score the most points. The challenges demanded logical thinking, creativity and, above all, communication — from cryptic clues to collaborative team tasks. The integrated map view and the position indicator on the tablet made it easy to find your way around the city and to head to the next crime scenes.
Our route took the groups past striking landmarks like the Elbphilharmonie, the historic Speicherstadt and the main church St. Michaelis. It is precisely this mix of modern icons and historic corners that makes our team building experience in Old Town so special: the city becomes a stage for shared moments and lasting memories.
Throughout the game I remained available by phone in case any questions or technical issues arose. After about an hour and a half everyone met back at the starting point for a joint award ceremony. In beautiful weather we celebrated the winning teams and looked back on the highlights of the game.
The iPad Murder Mystery format combines excitement with effective collaboration and is an ideal option for a team building experience in Old Town. As a team guide it is always a pleasure to see colleagues turn into temporary detective teams who find solutions together and have fun.
