Team Building Event TUI Cruises GmbH
As a team guide for CityHunters, I vividly remember our assignment with 16 participants from TUI Cruises GmbH on September 13, 2023 at 2:00 pm. The meeting point was the rear of the main St. Peter's Church, where I greeted the group and immediately sensed a positive atmosphere. It was a perfect start for a lively team building experience in Old Town.
After a brief introduction, the 16 participants were split into three teams. Each team received a tablet with our special app, the central tool for Murder Mystery Geocaching. The app guided them to different crime scenes, presented tricky cases and provided the puzzles to solve. In this way our concept blends technology and adventure in a very practical way.
Then the tour began: the teams set off independently yet in friendly competition for the most points. Points were awarded for correctly solving puzzles as well as for creative team tasks. I remained reachable by phone throughout the game in case questions or technical issues arose, so all groups kept moving confidently.
The route led the teams through vibrant Old Town, past well known sights such as the Elbphilharmonie, the Speicherstadt and the Chilehaus. The mix of city exploration and interactive crime story clearly showed how joint problem solving strengthens team cohesion. The weather was fair—pleasant enough to enjoy the outdoor stations and soak up the atmosphere.
After exactly three hours everyone met again at the rear of the main St. Peter's Church for the final debrief and award ceremony. Faces showed enthusiasm: successes, aha moments and lots of laughter proved that this event worked extremely well as a team building experience in Old Town.
For me as a guide it is always rewarding to see how such activities bring teams together and reveal new insights about how they work together.
